The materials from which disposable containers are made are absolutely harmless to people. It's true. Plastic containers are made from polymers. Before launching into mass production, scientific laboratories studied the effect of plastic on humans for a very long time. Technical and food grade plastic is made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene and polycarbonate. Polymers are inert and non-toxic. Experiments carried out on animals have shown that toxic substances released by polymeric materials can cause cancer. And when they get into the body of a pregnant woman, they cause the child's deformities.

Plastic dishes of domestic manufacturers are of better quality than foreign counterparts. Not always. The big role is played not by the country, but by the manufacturer of the goods. If an enterprise follows all production standards, then the product must indicate the code, the name of the material from which the product is made, the area of ​​use of the dishes (for hot, cold, bulk products, liquids, etc.).

Glassware and ceramics are more environmentally friendly and safer for health. However, plastic has its advantages. Plastic dishes are more convenient to use, they are lighter and do not break. In European countries, they began to switch to the use of glassware. This is not only due to the toxicity of polymer materials, but also due to the global problem of recycling plastic containers.

And firms that produce such products have accepted the conditions of the Americans, but at the same time insist on the safety of the aforementioned product. And for other countries, they continue to let in dangerous bottles. The fact is that polycarbonate contains bisphenol A, which, when the bottle is heated, can migrate into food. In action, it is similar to the female sex hormones (estrogen). The false hormone interferes with the normal estrogen function. It is especially dangerous for boys. It is able to negatively influence the formation of the reproductive system of the future man.

Plastic cutting boards are better and safer for your health because they don't grow bacteria. American microbiologists from the University of Wisconsin have dispelled this myth. They were able to prove that wooden cutting boards can even kill harmful food bacteria. It would seem a paradox, but 99.9% of bacteria on wooden boards died in the first 3 minutes, while their number on plastic ones remained unchanged. Prior to research, plastic boards were thought to be safer.

Disposable cups can be used for more than just water. First of all, you need to look at the labeling of the glass. Plastic itself is a soft material (it melts from high temperatures, cracks in the light). Therefore, stabilizers are added to the plastic for strength. From this it becomes stronger and more toxic. In the manufacture of disposable cups, polystyrene is used (designated as PS or ABS plastic), polypropylene (marking - PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC, PVC). Polystyrene is inert to cold drinks, but if, for example, tea is poured into a glass made from it, it begins to release styrene. Styrene accumulates in the liver and kidneys. May lead to liver cirrhosis. When PVC decomposes, it releases the toxic substance vinyl chloride, which accumulates over time. An easy way to establish the presence of PVC in the glass is to press with your fingernail on the wall of the product. If a whitish trace remains on the glass, then it is made of PVC. A polypropylene glass allows you to drink tea from it (withstands up to + l00˚С). But if you pour vodka into such a glass, then it begins to release phenol and formaldehyde (dangerous for the liver, kidneys, eyes). Scientists have even done research. Vodka was poured into a plastic glass made of polypropylene. After a couple of minutes, scientists analyzed the contents. The glass was not vodka, but a chemical solution dangerous to humans.

The use of melamine in the manufacture of tableware is prohibited. Yes it is. Melanin (melamine formaldehyde resin) cookware is hazardous to health. This type of plastic is durable and beautiful in appearance, the dishes made from it are similar to ceramic. In addition to formaldehyde, asbestos is added to such products for strength. Formaldehyde and asbestos can cause malignant tumors in humans. To apply a bright pattern to dishes, special paints are used (others are not suitable) containing heavy metals. Melamine cookware is comfortable, reliable, visually attractive, but very toxic. Such dishes contain ten times more formaldehyde than the norm.
