Today, in most families, parents include diapers on their must-have shopping list for babies. However, many young parents, having heard a lot of fables about diapers from mothers, grandmothers and acquaintances, begin to treat them with apprehension.

Let's dispel all the myths that are in one way or another associated with the use of disposable diapers. After all, if all this were true, all diapers would have been destroyed long ago. But, fortunately, not a single myth turned out to be true.

When the child grows up, he will pee in his pants. There is no connection between the use of diapers and the above. Regardless of whether you use disposable diapers or reusable, so-called diapers, potty training will take a while. Scientists have proven that a child's meaningful understanding of where he needs to go to the toilet and why it cannot be done elsewhere occurs no earlier than 2 years. That is why it is better to teach a child to potty only after reaching this age. For example, in one family this process begins when the child is 7 months old, and he still continues to write persistently until 2.5 years old. In another, potty training begins at the age of two, and within three months the child understands what is required of him. Thus, disposable diapers can be safely used until the child is 2 years old.

There is a "greenhouse effect" when using diapers. This frightening term appeared several years ago in almost all periodicals for young parents. It means that when using diapers in children, the body temperature and moisture level in those parts of the baby's body that are under disposable diapers increase. I would like to reassure the parents right away - this statement was refuted by the results of a study conducted by employees of the Research Institute of Pediatrics of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. The subjects of the research were an ordinary cloth diaper and a modern diaper made by one of the largest companies in the world market. The study confirmed that the temperature inside disposable diapers is not at all higher than that in a traditional cloth product. Scientists admit that the greenhouse effect can still be possible, but only when the child is in the same disposable diaper for more than 4 hours. That is why parents need to keep track of timely diaper changes and practice air baths between diaper changes.

The baby's skin comes into contact with the liquid. Most modern diaper manufacturers have made sure that the skin of babies in diapers remains dry, so parents have absolutely nothing to worry about. An exception is a situation when the diaper is full and there is nowhere else for the liquid to go, how to go back. In any case, disposable diapers have a big advantage over cloth diapers, in which the child has to be wet, as they say, from head to toe. There is already the proximity of the skin with the liquid.

Panty diapers are more comfortable than usual. Not necessary. Panty diapers appeared on sale relatively recently, and until that time, babies did great without them. In addition, the manufacturers of these products argue that they are convenient by the fact that they can be quickly removed while the child is playing and putting on new ones. Thus, the crumb does not have to be distracted from the game. And for the baby himself, diapers in the form of panties are just as comfortable as those with Velcro. If someone continues to doubt the incorrectness of the statement, then buy diapers with an elastic band on the back or on the sides.

Diapers can lead to impotence and infertility in the future. Nothing like this. In our country, disposable diapers began to be used in the early 90s, on what grounds can one judge impotence and infertility, if the guys who were the first to know what a diaper is are no more than 17 years old. For example, in the USA and other countries, diapers have been used for much longer than in our country. They do not have a similar trend. To prevent impotence and infertility, parents need to pay attention to the fact that the baby does not wear tight panties and tight clothes.

Toddler legs may bend. Another misconception in which people of the older generation are convinced (by analogy with the need for tight swaddling). The curvature of the lower extremities in children under 2 years of age is usually associated by pediatricians with the presence of serious diseases, including rickets. In addition, very often the curvature of the legs in babies can be the result of the use of "walkers" that were once popular in our country. Disposable diapers have nothing to do with it. This can be asserted with complete confidence, if only because the curvature of the legs occurs with equal frequency both in babies who have never known contact with disposable diapers, and those who constantly wear a diaper. Moreover, experts are confident that disposable diapers ensure that the hip joints of an infant are positioned in the same position as in free swaddling, the importance of which has already been approved and promoted by pediatricians around the world.

Girls may develop cystitis. But not because of the very fact of using diapers, but because of their improper use, namely, untimely diaper change. Also, cystitis (an inflammatory disease of the bladder) can be the result of improper care of the girl's genitals. It is clear that during the treatment of this disease you will most likely have to refrain from using diapers - it is more convenient to monitor the frequency and volume of urination.

The baby is uncomfortable in the diaper. When the baby begins to actively crawl and then run, the diaper can create inconvenience, but only in those cases when it is not worn correctly (the Velcro is too tight or too loose). Usually, mothers try to put on the diaper as close to the baby's body as possible, but do not take into account the fact that it is put on in a supine position, and when the baby kneels or stands on his feet, his tummy will increase in size.
