Cosmetics will always interest women. But is the information about the power of handmade cosmetics just a publicity stunt? Let's find out more about these remedies by debunking a number of myths about them.

All these cosmetics are made exclusively by hand. This myth is supported by cosmetics manufacturers. According to them, all products are made exclusively by hand, without the use of technical means. This is what determines the high quality of such cosmetics. In fact, this is only partly true. Indeed, the production of conventional and "handmade" cosmetics is different. So, in the classic case, ordinary soap is cooked at a temperature of 100 degrees Celsius. The process takes place in a large kettle, using animal fats, inexpensive synthetic materials and surfactants. When soap is made by hand, its melting point does not exceed 40 degrees, a saponification reaction is used. This method requires more expensive plant components. After that, the prepared product still needs to be defended for about a month in order for the soap to neutralize. It should be noted that it is the do-it-yourself soap makers who give the product those original color transitions, curls and figures inside. But even when making cosmetics by hand, you cannot do without technology. It is, however, used in minimal quantities, without greatly affecting the quality. As a result, handmade cosmetics still remain unrivaled in terms of their capabilities. Therefore, do not be afraid to purchase your favorite handmade products. Even if they are more expensive, they are also of better quality.

Handmade cosmetics are useful as they are prepared only from natural ingredients. This claim is rather controversial. For a product to be really useful, there is little to add natural substances to it, it is necessary that they also retain their properties for a long time. On the label you can read that it contains dozens of natural ingredients, undoubtedly useful. But how well do they interact with each other? Perhaps they neutralize each other? Is it possible to prepare a product so that the structure of trace elements and vitamins remains unchanged? It is difficult to answer these questions in the affirmative; for certain, some of the elements will lose their power. But such consideration threatens any cosmetic product, but this does not force us to refuse to use them. As a result, even if some ingredients from handmade cosmetics lose their beneficial properties, which the manufacturers are silent about, they certainly do not harm.

No preservatives are used in these cosmetics. It should be noted that the shelf life of handmade products is rather short - it is several times less than that of conventional cosmetics. But we can see these unique products on the shelves of a stuffy store, along with other products. Why is this happening? Manufacturers themselves rest on such a combination of ingredients, which allows you to keep cosmetics for a long time. We often hear that there are no preservatives in the composition. Few manufacturers still agree that they add a minimum amount of third-party substances to cosmetics to extend the shelf life. The question is rather controversial, because there are not so many natural preservatives. Not all of them can be used in the right amounts in cosmetics.

Glycerin is harmful, there is no benefit from it in cosmetics. Glycerin is sometimes used in some handmade cosmetics. There is an explanation for this - for more than a dozen years, the wonderful possibilities of this substance have been widely known. Glycerin is excellent at retaining moisture. Skin, which is hydrated with glycerin-containing products, retains its attractiveness for a long time. However, more recently, publications have appeared that, on the contrary, prove that the substance only draws moisture from the deep layers of the skin, leading to their dehydration and premature aging. Even among experts, opinions were divided in a polarized way, the disputes did not come to a common opinion. Some believed in the new theory, others are based on the fact that glycerin is a trihydric alcohol with an OH group. This makes it possible to bind water, moisturizing well the skin. Nevertheless, you should not abuse such funds anyway. After all, a strong excess of glycerin will actually lead to dry skin. It is worth advising to use such cosmetics rationally, which will give the desired result.

It is better not to buy handmade cosmetics for yourself, its main purpose is to serve as a beautiful gift. Indeed, fragrant and colorful bars of soap wrapped in waxed paper or a set of original cosmetics made by hand are a great gift for a person of any age. Today, stores have a wide selection of handmade cosmetics, so you can choose the option you like. Only now, many believe that it is better not to use such funds for themselves due to their high cost. After all, we do not use a ball gown in everyday life. However, such thoughts are just a stereotype that must be abandoned. After all, the joy of exquisite cosmetics for yourself, your beloved, will be so great! Good, high-quality products have a great effect not only on our body, but also on the inner world. A gourmet lives in each of us, it is worth sometimes surprising him with original good cosmetics.

You cannot use such cosmetics every day, it is too expensive. It is worth revising the price tags in stores to dispel this myth. Handmade cosmetics are in the middle price range. After all, comparable money costs a good shampoo, which we buy out of habit. The cost of handmade cosmetics, for example, soap, usually ranges from 80 to 250 rubles per 100 gram bar. At the same time, the parties are very small, which is due to their sale by weight. It is worth considering that the shelf life for such products usually does not exceed 1 year.

Natural substances are the best. This statement is only partially true. Indeed, we are everywhere surrounded by the products of chemical plants, which makes the craving for natural things explainable. Our eyes and ears are caressed by the listing of natural ingredients, we practically do not hesitate to buy the product in which they are contained. But you can't do without side effects. They may not be deadly, but they should be remembered. Essential oil supplements are now the most popular. However, in addition to their benefits, few people know that they can cause an allergic reaction. So, doctors note that for sensitive skin, you should not use rosemary or cinnamon essential oils - this can cause irritation. Before sunbathing, it is worth giving up lemon oils, and tea tree oil is contraindicated for young children.

Handmade cosmetics are popular only in Russia. Today, such funds are produced in many countries - the USA, England, France, South Africa, Croatia, Greece and Latvia. Their initiative was picked up by domestic manufacturers. Today, the English brands LUSH and Bomb Cosmetics are very popular among our women, the Riga "Good Soap Factory", the Russian "National Crafts" has managed to recommend itself.
